My Garage Floor Coating Ads Get Clicks but No Leads. What's Wrong?

The question, from garage floor coating companies with ads that get clicks

“My garage floor coating ads get clicks but no leads. What's wrong?”

8 min read

When garage floor coating ads get clicks but no leads, the ad is doing its job and something after the click is broken. The usual causes are a page that loads slowly on a phone, a page that does not match the ad, no photos of real floors, a form that is too long or does not submit, no clear next step, or tracking that is not counting leads that really came in. You can find which one in about 10 minutes on your own phone, on cellular data, before you touch the ads.

Is it really zero leads, or just fewer than before?

If you recently moved from the native Meta lead form to a landing page, expect the count to drop. The native form pre-fills name and phone, so a tap while scrolling counts as a lead. A landing page makes the homeowner type their own details. Our floor coating benchmarks are clear that a landing page produces better leads.

On Google search, garage floor coating terms commonly need 8 to 15 clicks per form fill or call. If you are several times past that with nothing, test the page before you spend more. On Meta, open Ads Manager and compare link clicks to landing page views. If landing page views are far below link clicks, people are leaving before the page even loads.

Where do the clicks drop off?

1. The page loads slowly on a phone. Homeowners tap from the couch or the garage, often on a weak signal. If they get a blank screen while full size photos load, they hit back. You never see it on office wifi.

2. The page does not match the ad. The ad shows a flake garage floor and says "one day install." The tap lands on your home page, which leads with a commercial warehouse floor and a long menu of services. The homeowner wonders if they are in the right place and leaves.

3. No photos of real floors. Stock photos make homeowners suspicious. They want a garage like theirs, coated by you, in a town they know.

4. The form is too long, or broken. Every extra field costs you form fills. Worse, forms break quietly: a required field hidden on mobile, a submit button covered by a chat widget, a phone field that rejects dashes, a captcha that never loads.

5. No clear next step. If the page offers "learn more," "see our gallery," "download our brochure," and "contact us," the homeowner does none of them. One button, one offer: a free estimate.

6. Tracking is broken. The lead came in. It went to an inbox nobody checks, or the CRM integration stopped syncing, or the conversion event fired on the wrong page. The ads platform reports zero, and you believe it.

For the full page layout once it works, see the floor coating website that converts. This page is about finding the break.

How can you test it yourself in 10 minutes?

Grab your phone and turn wifi off.

Minutes 0 to 2: Open the ad. Use the ad preview link from Ads Manager or the exact URL your ad points to. Do not search and click your own Google ad repeatedly, since you pay for those clicks. Count how long it takes before you see a floor.

Minutes 2 to 4: Read the first screen like a homeowner. Does it show the same kind of floor as the ad? Does it say what you do and where? Is there one obvious button? Are the photos yours?

Minutes 4 to 7: Fill out the form. Use your real name with "TEST" in it and your own cell number. Watch for anything that slows you down: a surprise field, a letter keyboard for the phone number, a vague error message. Tap submit. Did you land on a thank you page that says when someone will call?

Minutes 7 to 10: Follow the lead. Check where the test lead went: CRM, email, text alert. Check that the conversion showed up in Meta Events Manager or Google Ads conversions. Then wait for your phone to ring. If nobody calls, you just found a second problem.

The clicks but no leads checklist

CheckWhat good looks likeIf it fails
Ad linkThe URL is correct, live, and goes to the landing page, not the home pageFix the link; look for typos, old pages, and error pages
Load on cellularA real floor photo shows within a few secondsCompress images, cut the gallery down, remove heavy scripts and pop ups
Ad to page matchSame floor, same offer, same words as the adBuild a page for the ad, or change the ad to match the page
Real floorsYour own installs, labeled by town and systemReplace stock photos with your last few jobs
FormName, phone, town, one optional line; submits on a phoneRemove fields; test every required field on mobile
Next stepOne button, a tappable phone number, a thank you pageRemove extra links; add a page that says when you will call
Lead routingThe test lead reaches the person calling within a minuteFix the integration; send alerts by text, not just email
Conversion trackingThe test lead shows up in the ads platformFix the pixel or tag so the platform can learn who converts

Work it top to bottom. The last two rows catch the breaks that make you think the ads failed when they did not.

What if the page passes every check?

Then look at who is clicking. Some ads earn curious taps from people who were never shopping, like a satisfying flake broadcast video with no offer. On Meta, check results by placement as well, since some placements outside the main feeds can produce accidental taps.

If people are filling out the form now but the leads are renters, out of area, or never answer, that is a quality problem, not a volume problem. If the ads produced leads for months and then faded, read why floor coating ads stop working for creative fatigue and seasonality.

And once leads do come in, speed matters more than anything on the page. If the call goes out hours later, many will not pick up. See why floor coating leads don't answer.

Frequently asked questions

Why are my floor coating ads getting clicks but no form submissions?

Usually something on the page stops the homeowner: slow loading on a phone, a mismatch with the ad, no real floor photos, or a long or broken form. Sometimes the leads are arriving somewhere nobody checks. Submit a test lead from your own phone with wifi off to see which it is.

How many clicks should it take to get a garage floor coating lead?

On Google Ads for garage floor coating terms, it commonly takes 8 to 15 clicks per form fill or call, and clicks commonly cost $8 to $25. If you are well past that with no leads, check the landing page and tracking before you change keywords. Meta does not have one clean click to lead number, so compare link clicks to landing page views and to form fills instead.

Should I send epoxy flooring ads to my home page or a landing page?

A landing page built for the ad. A home page has too many links and services, and an epoxy flooring homeowner who tapped one floor wants to see that floor and one estimate button. A landing page also produces better leads than the native Meta lead form.

How do I know if my concrete coating ad tracking is broken?

Submit a test lead from your phone and check two places: where the lead went (CRM, email, or text alert) and whether the conversion appeared in Meta Events Manager or Google Ads. If the lead arrived but the platform shows nothing, tracking is broken. If neither shows it, the form or the integration is broken.

Will switching to the native Meta lead form fix a polyaspartic campaign with no leads?

It will usually raise the lead count, but the leads will be weaker, since the form pre-fills details and many people barely remember submitting. A landing page produces better polyaspartic and garage floor coating leads. Fix the page first, and only consider the native form if you can call every lead within a minute and are ready to sort through more unqualified ones.
